Harvest Festival at Holy Cross Abbey

Wine, Food & Music at a Colorado Landmark

Saturday - September 19, 2026 @ 11:00 am from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm

The Winery at Holy Cross Abbey sits on one of the most beautiful properties in Fremont County, and every late September it hosts a two-day Harvest Festival that has become a beloved Cañon City tradition. The event features wine tastings, food from local restaurants and caterers, arts and crafts vendors, and live music throughout the weekend. It begins with a traditional Blessing of the Harvest, tying the celebration to the abbey property's monastic history.

The Harvest Festival is the kind of event that surprises people who think small Colorado towns cannot offer a refined experience. The setting, the wine, and the atmosphere rival events in much larger communities.

Wine Tastings

Sample wines produced on-site at the Winery at Holy Cross Abbey. The winery has been producing award-winning wines on the historic abbey grounds since 2002.

Blessing & Live Music

A traditional Blessing of the Harvest opens the festival, followed by live music from regional bands throughout the weekend. Food vendors and artisan booths fill the grounds.

Late September in Cañon City is one of the best times of year. The summer crowds have thinned, the temperatures are ideal, and the landscape shifts into fall colors along the river valley. The Harvest Festival is a perfect reason to visit or a perfect weekend if you already call Cañon City home.

Colorado Living Without the Front Range Price Tag

Affordable housing, reliable broadband, and the Royal Gorge in your backyard

Cañon City sits at the mouth of the Royal Gorge, where the Arkansas River carves through one of the deepest canyons in North America. Median home prices run roughly $318,000 — less than 60% of Denver's median. Multiple fiber providers deliver gigabit speeds across the city. The schools are strong, the healthcare is local, and the community calendar is full year-round. This is not a pitch — it is what the data says and what residents experience every day.
